The Dirty Gerund is not a poetry slam venue, but our roadshow poets like to travel to regional slams and practice their craft together as representitives of the venue/Worcester poetry scene. The 2026 crew has lost its team lead mid-season, so we’re putting out this call to the community to fill the role.

General info:

• Any “slam curious” regular Dirty Gerund community poets can join the team by simply speaking with a current team member on a Monday night. By ‘regular’ we mean you are actively engaged on the mic and in the audience every month.
• The team’s lead will help any interested poet find/attend solo-slams and get practice in with the team ahead of any upcoming team slams we’re traveling to.
• We typically send a team to at least two regional slams per year in the spring & summer. The team lead submits registration paperwork, etc.
• Team leaders are voted in annually and serve a maximum consecutive two year term.
