Many moons ago, a lone poet began sharing their work with anyone who would listen from the corner of the bar at Ralph’s. This rapidly evolved (spiraled?) into a three ring ruckus, which continues without falter, to kick off every Monday night. The Dirty Gerund Poetry Show is 18 years of Mondays tonight– plus the gaggle of side shows we’ve added — thats over 950 open mic nights! The size of the sign up sheet has changed over the years so there’s no accurate count, but we’ve seen thousands poets and performers grace our mic from first time writers to award winning national heros of verse. Some pass through regularly, some launch from our stage off to their creative home elsewhere, all (21+) are always welcome to please come back. Like you: Please come join us for a celebratory show this evening. Bonus points (in my heart) if you read us a birthday poem.
