Monday is Indigenous Peoples’ Day and The Worcester Art Museum is open with free admission in recognition of the day! After you get your fill of art, come on down to Ralph’s for the Dirty Gerund Poetry Show, always free, every Monday at 830 PM.
Our Feature: Charlie Jay is a queer poet, musician, and visual artist raised & living in the Boston area. She documents her deep love, and pain, hope, and straight realness with her words, voice, and collages.Charlie is also a pre-k teacher, and believes that sharing art, playing, and connecting with one another are the foundations for self assured, kind-hearted, stronger generations. Charlie describes her art & lifestyle as ‘ADHDventurous’, dipping her toes and trying her hand at whatever piques her interest at the time.
Inside/outside show??? Almost certainly inside for the season folks! That said, don’t be surprised if you show up and we’re outside for the evening if the weather is just right: we might not make the call until just before show time. Pack the car with a hoodie and/or blanket just in case. We got lucky last week with one more patio show, but there’s a frost warning this weekend so, keep a close eye on Monday’s weather.
Come on down to read your work, tell your jokes, bear your soul, all while accompanied by the coolest backing band since the invention of Ray-Bans. Open mic list is up at 8pm, show to kick off ~9 ; slots for first and second half, alongside a waiting list. Don’t see the room on the list? Talk to Nark, and they’ll see what they can do. Slots are 1-2 poems, 1 song, or approximately 6 minutes.
