BONUS RYE RUCKUS : In homage to our feature and local word collector, we challenge you to write a poem with 10 words, using one of them in each line, that Nark will hand you at the beginning of the show for you to then turn into a poem. Winner will go home with $10!!!!!!!

🌟 IRON POET FINALS ARE AMONGST US 🌟

The mic ignites during the daylight hours at Hunchback Gallery as we crown the next champion our ruckus of poetic combat! It’s a full-circle showdown as the ever-evolving Nic Jean – mentor, wordsmith, and poetic Jedi master – steps into the ring to challenge their own apprentice, the reigning Iron Poet champ, Madeline.

Will the student surpass the teacher? Who will be crowned with the wisdom of a thousand verses? Only one will leave with the title — and bragging rights that echo louder than a mic drop in hyperspace. While these two scrap their poems together there will be an open mic as our usual ruckus provides: 1 song, 2-3 poems, ~ 6 minutes.

Florilegia! Flowers are the focus. Real ones. Imagined ones. Lego ones. Scanned, painted, abstracted, or reassembled. Some appear on canvas, others through a screen or in augmented reality. Florilegia is a celebration of all things floral, from a single perfect bloom to the shape, symbolism, or strange energy a flower can hold. Florilegia is on view through September 27 at Hunchback Gallery.
