Monday! We’ve got a double creature feature show!

The Roadshow slam team is a traveling collective of poets born from The Dirty Gerund Poetry Show. They fuse the radical, punk-inspired energy of “dive bar dirt parking lot poetry” with the time constraints and rigid rules of traditional poetry slam—without losing their fists of gravel. Their goal is to dismantle the barriers and misconceptions that misrepresent slam poetry as exclusive or formulaic in comparison to the freedom of an open-mic, by empowering marginalized, underrepresented, and emerging writers to perform. The team is to head off to compete in the The NorthBEAST Regional Poetry Slam this upcoming weekend and we want to send them off right (with MBTA fare) TIME TO LOCK IN POETS!!!!

Nark Lizard is a poet, photographer, hypeman, and local cryptd of Worcester, MA. Often described as the love child of Gonzo and Fran Fine. As stated by another local poet mastermind “Along time ago Nark Lizard didnt exist and historians call that the Dark Ages. They were born here to make art, build community and make Worcester a place worth living.” You may know them as the gremlin that hosts the Dirty Gerund weekly. Lizard uses poetry as an outlet to process grief, living with schizophrenia, depression and disordered eating. You can usually hear them yelling a compliment at someone before you see them and find them with a cigarette and/or red bull in hand. Nark alongside Jiji will be heading off to New York City Poetry fest this weekend, help us send them off with a full tank of gas and money for parking!
