The Dirty Gerund is seeking artists to join us on Monday nights!

About a half decade ago, if you’d have come to Ralph’s on a Monday night, in addition to hearing the house band go wild and the poets bear their souls and the games (was that poet writing on a microwave?) and the snack time and the general ruckus among us, you’d likely have seen a quiet artist working away in a corner. Maybe slinging paint, maybe weaving fibers, maybe some mix of both? We miss that. We miss you.

The Dirty Gerund is putting out a call for artists to come join us once again. Sign up with the form on our booking page to let our booking manager know you’re interested. What we’re looking for:

Live art – bring your supplies and produce a piece on the spot. We will auction the piece for you in the second half of the show! That gives you roughly an hour and a half-ish maybe two in Poet Time to create and take home a lil sum sum from the sale, and someone else goes home with something as unique as the night

Completed art – bring your prints, your jewels, your productions, your packaged creations. We can provide you table space, but if you have a preferred set up feel free to bring it down. The community is likely to start shopping as soon as you’re ready, but we will remind them throughout the night on the mic that you’re here with art for sale

What we’re not looking for:

AI slop, MLMs, drop ship vendors, food trucks, etc. This is not an open call to vendors of all types, this is specifically a call for living artists

Other things to keep in mind…

Same rules as on the mic, be respectful of the space and leave the TRASH (Transphobia, Racism, Ablism, Sexism, Homophobia, etc.) behind
We are outside most of the summer, if it rains or is unreasonably cold, we move inside. Both scenarios have limited-to-no lighting, so if you’re doing live art, we’d recommend bringing an extension cord and a lamp
If you are doing live art, please be respectful of Ralph’s and don’t get us in trouble by making a mess. Aerosols for obvious reasons can only be used outside and away from all structures. All live art in general will be a case-by-case basis
Ralph’s is a 21+ bar, indoors and outdoors, no exceptions
