Ilse Ruizvisfocri is a Mexican artist born in the state of Colima. She graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Colima with a B.A. in International Business, knowing a lot about business but not enough about life. At first, using writing, photography and filmmaking as a way free herself from her feelings, Ilse found inspiration not only in big classic writers but around her community in Boston. Eventually illustrating the complexities within her own reality, Ilse has found poetry to be a medium that brings to light the simplicity and beauty of emotion within the human experience. She participated in the 2024 North Beast Regional getting second place with “Sin Nombre” team, won Boston Poetry Slam Adams September edition, and she’s a regular at the Cantab Lounge, opening her heart to the people every Wednesday night. We are so excited to have them on our stage !
