In preparation for the 2025 slam season, the Dirty Gerund’s “Roadshow” team recently hosted a special guest artist for a craft talk on poetry and performance.

We can’t say THANK YOU enough to Worcester’s own superwoman: Ashley Wonder, esteemed spoken word artist and saxophonist, for sharing her insights and wisdom with us! As a Worcester Seven Hills Slam alumna your time working with us means the world. Our discussions on the power and impact team harmony can have, what it means to be an underdog, and hearing firsthand how, when delivered from a place of authentic passion, poems can resonate and stay with someone long after the performance ends was exactly what the team needed to kickoff the spring. Thank you THANK you thank YOU.

Ashley Wonder is known to perform with dynamic passion in hopes of impacting her audiences. She has been awarded International Global Wedding Award for Best Spoken Word Artist, and 2023 Saxophonist LUXLife Magazine, and writes and performs from experiences ranging from depression, surviving suicide, grief, faith, and biracial identity as a firm believer in speaking your testimony to find healing.
